Garden Maintenance
In a mild, wet climate the garden grows almost all year, and it only takes a few weeks away for the grass to get ahead of you and the hedges to start closing in on the path. Garden maintenance covers the regular jobs that keep it under control: mowing, hedges, weeding, and a proper tidy at the start and end of the season.

Time to book if you've got

How we do it
Step by step.
- 01
Walk round
Agree what needs doing and what should be left alone.
- 02
Cut back
Grass, hedges and overgrowth brought back under control first.
- 03
Tidy
Beds weeded, edges finished and leaves cleared.
- 04
Clear away
Green waste removed, not left in a pile at the back.
Best time to book
Grass grows from March to October here, so regular visits through that time. A tidy-up in early spring and a cut-back in autumn sets the garden up for the year.

Guides
Garden Maintenance: your questions
Do you take the garden waste away?
Yes. Cuttings and green waste are taken away rather than left in bags for you to deal with.
Can you do a one-off tidy?
Yes, one-off tidy-ups are common, especially before selling or renting a house, or after a garden has been left for a while.
When should hedges be cut in Ireland?
Light trimming of garden hedges is fine through the growing season. Hard cutting is best left to the autumn and winter, after birds have finished nesting.
