Fence & Deck Cleaning in Kerry

Timber takes a beating in an Irish garden. Decking goes grey, then green, then dangerously slippy, and fences pick up algae and lichen on the shaded side. We clean it back to bare, sound wood at a pressure that won't tear up the grain, so it's ready to be stained or oiled. We cover Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Kenmare, Killorglin and Castleisland and everywhere else in the county.

What's included

The full job, not half of it.

  • Cleaning of decking boards, steps and railings
  • Fence panels and posts, both sides where access allows
  • Garden furniture, sheds and pergolas on request
  • Pressure set to suit the timber so the grain isn't damaged
  • Advice on staining or oiling once it's dry

Time to book if you've got

  • Decking that's slippy or green, especially in the shade
  • Timber that's gone silver-grey and furry to the touch
  • Lichen or moss growing on fence panels
  • Stain or oil that's patchy and peeling

How we do it

Step by step.

  1. 01

    Prep

Furniture and plants moved, and the timber checked for loose or rotten boards.

  2. 02

    Treat

A cleaner applied to loosen algae and grime from the grain.

  3. 03

    Wash

Washed at a pressure that cleans the wood without tearing the surface fibres.

  4. 04

    Dry

Left to dry out properly before any stain or oil goes on.

Best time to book

Late spring and summer, in a dry spell, so the timber has time to dry before it's stained or sealed.

In Kerry

Decking in Kerry rarely gets a chance to dry out properly, which is why it goes green and slippy so quickly. A clean and a fresh coat of oil makes a huge difference. Kerry is one of the wettest corners of the country. Rain coming straight in off the Atlantic means north-facing walls go green, paving gets slippy and gutters work harder than almost anywhere else in Ireland.

Fence & Deck Cleaning in Kerry: questions

Do you do fence and deck cleaning in Tralee and Killarney?

Yes. We cover all of County Kerry, including Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Kenmare, Killorglin, Castleisland, Dingle, Cahersiveen and Ballybunion.

Will power washing ruin my decking?

Too much pressure, too close, will. We set the pressure to suit the timber and work along the grain, which cleans it without leaving it fluffy and scarred.

Should I stain the deck afterwards?

It's the best time to do it. Freshly cleaned, dry timber takes stain or oil far better and stays protected for longer.

Can you clean composite decking?

Yes. Composite needs a gentler approach than timber, and we'll adjust for it.
