Fence & Deck Cleaning in Cork
Timber takes a beating in an Irish garden. Decking goes grey, then green, then dangerously slippy, and fences pick up algae and lichen on the shaded side. We clean it back to bare, sound wood at a pressure that won't tear up the grain, so it's ready to be stained or oiled. We cover Cork City, Douglas, Ballincollig, Glanmire, Carrigaline and Cobh and everywhere else in the county.

Time to book if you've got

- Lichen or moss growing on fence panels
- Stain or oil that's patchy and peeling
How we do it
Step by step.
- 01
Prep
Furniture and plants moved, and the timber checked for loose or rotten boards.
- 02
Treat
A cleaner applied to loosen algae and grime from the grain.
- 03
Wash
Washed at a pressure that cleans the wood without tearing the surface fibres.
- 04
Dry
Left to dry out properly before any stain or oil goes on.
Best time to book
Late spring and summer, in a dry spell, so the timber has time to dry before it's stained or sealed.
In Cork
Decking in Cork rarely gets a chance to dry out properly, which is why it goes green and slippy so quickly. A clean and a fresh coat of oil makes a huge difference. East Cork and the harbour towns take salt air off the sea, which dulls render and windows faster than you'd think. West Cork gets the full Atlantic rain, so moss and green algae get a grip on paths, walls and roofs quickly.

Fence & Deck Cleaning in Cork: questions
Do you do fence and deck cleaning in Cork City and Douglas?
Yes. We cover all of County Cork, including Cork City, Douglas, Ballincollig, Glanmire, Carrigaline, Cobh, Midleton, Mallow, Fermoy, Youghal, Bandon, Kinsale, Clonakilty, Macroom, Mitchelstown, Skibbereen and Bantry.
Will power washing ruin my decking?
Too much pressure, too close, will. We set the pressure to suit the timber and work along the grain, which cleans it without leaving it fluffy and scarred.
Should I stain the deck afterwards?
It's the best time to do it. Freshly cleaned, dry timber takes stain or oil far better and stays protected for longer.
Can you clean composite decking?
Yes. Composite needs a gentler approach than timber, and we'll adjust for it.
